In 1999 I joined a band that had been on the circuit for just under a year. Little did I know that this project called Shades Of Wrong would turn into one of Indy’s favorite cover bands, and these four folks would become some of my best friends.
We busted our asses for a few months and compiled over 100 popular songs in the Classic, Alternative, and Pop/Dance Rock genres. After a few successful shows we found ourselves booked every other weekend at some of Indy’s favorite clubs—for nearly seven years. We also hit the local college fraternity scene, and traveled down to Jasper and out to Terre Haute for several shows. There were a couple breaks in the action along the way, but we rocked steady until May of 2005 when we decided to hang it up, thanks to the local music scene taking a dive.
Along the way we managed to record a CD of five original songs, and three of our favorite covers back in 2003. All of these songs can be heard and downloaded at our website—www.shadesofwrong.net by clicking on LISTEN—and we won’t even send the Napster police after you! You can also follow us on Facebook.
After several years of remaining friends, we decided to re-band in February of 2010 and took on a lighter workload of gigging about once a month. We’ve even lighted things up a bit with a couple of acoustic “unplugged” shows. And we are currently working to add a few more original tunes to our arsenal. Stay tuned...perhaps another recording session is on the horizon!
